Recreation Services is now accepting applications for Personal Trainers from qualified individuals interested in pursuing part-time employment with the Town of Oakville. Personal Trainer Pay Rate: $35.90- $47.85 per hour Hours: Vary, up to a maximum of 24 hours per week Job Responsibilities Offering safe and effective personal training and fitness counselling to individuals Developing safe, professional and comprehensive personal training programs to ensure clients are satisfied with their workout program and remain motivated to attain their personal fitness goals Monitoring and instructing clients during personal training sessions on the safe and effective use of cardiovascular, flexibility and strength training equipment Position is applicable to one-on-one and semi-private training sessions To provide Fitness Centre users with fitness information and promote Town of Oakville programs and services Providing informative consultations to potential clientele. Consultation includes health screening, data collection, research, health history. May include fitness assessment where applicable Writing exercise programs for clients, tracking, recording and record keeping of all client files Correspondence and booking of personal training sessions with client and customer service team Other duties as assigned You may be scheduled for a Fitness Centre Monitor shift, supervising the fitness centre, before or after scheduled personal training sessions. Please note you will be compensated at the Fitness Centre Monitor rate during this time. Qualifications A Nationally recognized Personal Training Certification is required, such as CSEP-CPT, CSEP-CEP, NSCA-CPT, Canfitpro-PTS, ACE. Any other specialty fitness and training certificates; or equivalent is an asset Degree/diploma in a related field (i.e. Kinesiology, Fitness/Health Promotion) or equivalent background and experience is preferred Current Intermediate First Aid with CPR C (formerly Standard First Aid with CPR C) from a WSIB-approved provider, issued within the last three (3) years and valid throughout the term of employment. Please note that this position requires a satisfactory criminal record and vulnerable sector screening check dated within the last 30 days as a condition of employment. Candidates who are under the age of 18 at the time of hire will only be required to provide a criminal record check.
