About the Role The Township of Oro-Medonte is currently seeking applicants for an 8-month position for a Contract - Parks & Facility Labourer for the Operations and Community Services Department. Reporting to the Supervisor, Parks & Facilities, the Contract Parks & Facilities Labourer shall be responsible for providing variety of custodial and general maintenance at the Township Arena. Highlights of key responsibilities include: * maintaining the cleanliness, appearance, sanitation and safety of buildings, and ensuring the physical security of the facilities; * Collecting and disposing of garbage, compost and recyclable materials; * Responsible for the sweeping/snow removal of walkways, and emergency exits during shift, salting/sanding as required; * Set up and take down of meeting and event rooms as required; WHAT YOU BRING The applicant must possess a high school diploma and 1-year related experience in custodial facility maintenance. The successful applicant must hold and maintain a valid Class “G” driver’s license, shall be knowledgeable in the Ontario Health and Safety Act, WHMIS and be available to work flexible hours including days, evenings, weekends and holidays in a variety of environmental conditions. The position of Parks & Facilities Labourer is a physically demanding position, requiring the ability to lift and carry up to 20 kilograms, climb ladders and stairs A valid Ontario Class “G” Driver’s License and a satisfactory Driver’s Abstract and Vulnerable Sector Screening are also required for this role. WHAT WE OFFER This bargaining unit contract position offers a salary commensurate with experience and education (2026 wage schedule range of $22.95-28.56 per hour). The working hours for this position will be forty (40) hours per week, from approximately September 2026 to April 2027. The Parks and Facilities Labourer is responsible for maintaining the cleanliness, safety, and physical security of the Township Arena. Duties include waste collection, snow removal, and the setup of meeting and event rooms.

Applicants must possess a high school diploma and at least one year of related experience in custodial facility maintenance. A valid Ontario Class G driver's license and knowledge of the Ontario Health and Safety Act and WHMIS are required.
