About the Role The Township is seeking applicants for two (2) part-time contract roles of Weekend Patrol, working for a period of up to 6 months beginning in November 2026 (up to 24 hours per week). Shifts will be scheduled on weekends and may include both day and afternoon shifts, depending on operational requirements. Reporting to the Supervisor, Operations – Transportation, the successful candidate will be responsible for patrolling municipal roads to identify and report winter conditions and hazards. Highlights of key responsibilities include: * Reporting snow or ice accumulation, potholes, hazardous trees, and flooding in accordance with Minimum Maintenance Standards; * Initiating staff call-ins per Township procedures and documenting road deficiencies * Reviewing and following up on work orders; * Performing emergency roadside tree removal * Installing barricades for closures or detours * Conducting light equipment maintenance; * Other duties as assigned WHAT YOU BRING Applicants must be a minimum of 18 years of age, maintain a ‘G’ Class driver’s license (DZ Licence would be considered an asset) and have the ability to work well in a team setting as well as on their own. The successful applicant’s will be required to work on Saturday and Sunday in either the day or afternoon shift. A Criminal Record Check and Driver’s Abstract satisfactory to the Township are also required for this role. WHAT WE OFFER This bargaining unit position offers a salary commensurate with experience and education (2026 wage schedule range of $28.08-33.74 per hour).
