Our client is seeking a detail-oriented and highly organized Project Accountant / Administrative Assistant to join their team in Vancouver, BC! This role is responsible for managing and presenting project financial data, monitoring accounting activities, and maintaining communication with field and corporate teams. The role also supports the Design and Construction team by coordinating activities, managing proposals and creative projects, and handling administrative tasks to help ensure projects are completed efficiently and on time. Perks & Benefits: Salary range at $70,000 - $80,000 per year Generous PTO and benefits package Hybrid schedule with 4 days in-office, 1 day from home Monday - Friday schedule RRSP matching Opportunity to take ownership of project financial tracking and reporting The opportunity to work with a highly creative team What You Will Be Doing: Project Financial Management: Monitor budgets, costs, profitability, variances, and financial reporting. Client Billing & Receivables: Prepare invoices, coordinate billing, track payments, and follow up on receivables. Vendor & Subcontractor Accounting: Process invoices, reconcile costs, coordinate payments, and manage inquiries. Contracts & Compliance: Manage insurance, lien releases, notices, guarantees, and required financial documentation. Project Setup & Commercial Support: Coordinate fee proposals, POs, work authorizations, additional services, and project setup. Project Closeout: Manage final billing, releases, guarantees, and financial closeout documentation. Project & Team Coordination: Partner with project leaders, accounting teams, vendors, and subcontractors throughout projects. AI & Workflow Optimization: Develop AI-enabled workflows to automate processes, improve reporting, and simplify the financial experience for non-accounting users. Who You Are: Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience, along with 3-5 years of relevant experience Experience with contract documents; experience in the design or construction industry is an asset Intermediate to advanced computer skills, particularly with Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Word and Comfortable with AI. Highly organized with attention to detail. Collaborative and able to build effective working relationships with project teams, vendors, subcontractors, and internal departments

Requirements

Requires a Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience with 3-5 years of relevant experience, preferably in design or construction. Must possess advanced Microsoft Office skills and be comfortable utilizing AI tools.
