Transdev Canada is hiring an Operations Supervisor for our Brampton, Ontario location Transdev Canada is actively seeking an Operations Supervisor for the role of overseeing contractual obligations within the Hazel McCallion Line’s operations team. This includes direct supervision of transit services and working in the Operations Control Centre to ensure safe, efficient, and courteous operations. Your role Oversee daily operations for all transit staff and contractual agreements Manage daily schedule and on-time performance Supervise hourly and regular staff, and familiarize new and current operating personnel with operations, contracts, [OA1] policies and procedures Ensure compliance to all standards and project agreements, various local and network instructions to achieve a safe, secure and customer friendly environment. Participate on task forces related to operational improvements, safety and security Act as a front-line representative to minimize and resolve complaints from customers regarding employees, station conditions, transit service passenger and vehicle(s) flow, etc. Act as the Incident Commander during emergencies Coordinate all on-site activities and logistics and ensure the safe and prompt restoration of service in conjunction with other personnel, stakeholders and outside agencies Liaise with Maintenance Department to ensure provision of continuous service and within project agreement standards Operate LRV safely during revenue and non-revenue services Control various transit operations related incidents, as necessary to minimize service disruption and lost time, arrange for alternate transit options and plan restoration actions Submit recommendations regarding policies, schedules, service performance, regulations, signage, etc. with the general intention to improve overall safety and service Complete a variety of documents and forms, daily, specific to transit operations and the performance management of the MHS personnel and service delivery under their direct control Investigate a variety of incidents involving accidents, injuries or other occurrences that may result in claims, and submit appropriate documentation Manage training, coaching and performance of staff to meet customer needs and support business goals Ensure that subordinate employees participate in all sanctioned training and committees Peer mentor new Supervisors and LRV Drivers in[CH2] operating procedures and practices Promote a respectful work and service environment that supports diversity, inclusion, and is free from harassment and discrimination Helps to build an inclusive and accessible work and service environment for all employees and customers Ensures the needs of employees and customers are accommodated in accordance with commitments and obligations under the Ontario Human Rights Code (OHRC) and Related Orders, the Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act (AODA), and policies The perks Annual salary of $85,000-$95,000 (based on fully qualified candidate) A comprehensive compensation package A positive work environment Career advancement opportunities due to a strong presence across North America. The ability to have a positive social impact by operating sustainable mobility solutions Join a Group committed to encouraging diversity and employee development Your profile You possess a minimum of 5 years rail or transit experience, including past supervisory experience You must possess a valid, non-probationary, Province of Ontario class “G” driver’s license, in good standing You possess the ability to work flexible hours in an 24/7/365 work environment You possess demonstrated knowledge of and skill in word processing, spreadsheet, and database PC applications You have knowledge of operations and maintenance standards, procedures and practices in a rail environment You are familiar with Ontario Health and Safety Act (OHSA) regulations You possess excellent oral and written communication skills You are detail oriented and able to manage multiple assignments effectively You possess a post-secondary college diploma or university degree in a related discipline or a combination of education, training and experience deemed to be equivalent. Work Experience Qualifications Must be legally entitled to work in Canada 3 to 4 years of relevant experience in a rail transit project of a similar scope Proven knowledge and experience of working in a complex safety-critical environment within the rail industry Excellent time-management, planning, conceptual and consultative skills Good working knowledge of the design and development of compliance management processes Good level of understanding and experience in Private Public Partnership (PPP) environment Join an international Group strongly rooted in the communities Transdev is an international leader in mobility at the service of communities.
