PRIMARY DIRECT SUPPORT WORKER Full-Time, Permanent Aldaview Services, Tri-County Mennonite Homes New Hamburg, ON About Aldaview Services: Aldaview Services supports adults with intellectual/developmental disabilities, empowering its clients to be self-sufficient and nurturing self-determination. About the role: The Primary Direct Support Worker is responsible to coordinate and ensure the provision of support which will increase the quality of life and independence of individuals supported. A caseload will be assigned by the Aldaview Leadership Team. While the Primary Direct Support will take a lead role with an assigned caseload they will also provide leadership and direction to other staff when the assigned Primary Direct Support is not available or on shift. WAGE: $25.64 to $29.74 hourly QUALIFICATIONS Post-secondary degree/diploma in the social services field, such as a DSW/PSW or enrolled in a related college or university program is preferred. OR Related experience working with adults with intellectual/developmental disabilities. CPR, Emergency First Aid, NVCI Aldaview employees will be responsible for driving residents' appointments, activities etc. therefore a G license required Experience supporting individuals with Dual Diagnosis, Mental Health & Addictions would be an asset KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES Good verbal and written communication skills Ability to advocate for others Ability to coordinate support and work on support plans, document behaviours and medical concerns accordingly, understand health and safety, and demonstrate strong interpersonal skills. Strong problem-solving skills and takes initiative in making improvements. Ability to contribute to a safe environment for co-workers and clients. Can communicates respectfully, openly and honestly. Demonstrated experience working with adults with an intellectual/developmental disability is preferable. Requirements

Candidates should have a post-secondary degree or diploma in social services or related experience working with adults with intellectual disabilities. A valid G driver's license, CPR, Emergency First Aid, and NVCI certification are required.
