Full Time | Alert Bay Community Health Representative Employment type: Full Time Salary: $43,662-$49,726 43,662 Reports to: Director of Community Services Posting closes: Until filled About The Role The 'Namgis Health Centre is seeking a Community Health Representative (CHR) to support health and wellness initiatives for infants, children, youth, and adults within the 'Namgis community. The Community Health Representative plays an important role in supporting community health programs through client engagement, health education, clinic coordination, community outreach, and administrative support. Working closely with the Community Health Nurse and other health staff, the CHR contributes to a holistic, culturally respectful, and community-centered approach to health and wellness. The successful candidate will be organized, compassionate, and able to build positive relationships with community members. This position requires strong communication, problem-solving, and time-management skills, along with the ability to work collaboratively as part of an Integrated Service Team Key Responsibilities The Community Health Representative (CHR) plays a key role in promoting health and wellness for infants, children, youth, and adults within the 'Namgis community. The CHR supports a variety of community health programs through client engagement, health education, clinic coordination, outreach, and administrative support. Working closely with the Community Health Nurse and other health staff, the CHR fosters holistic approach and improved health outcomes through culturally respectful and community-centered care Skills And Experience Six months community work experience with First Nations People A minimum of three years experience working in a health organization Demonstrated ability to manage time, program scheduling Demonstrated "conflict resolution" and "problem solving" skills. Demonstrated written and verbal communication skills Demonstrated computer skills Knowledge and experience with Chronic Disease, Health Promotion, Prevention and Protection Ability and experience in workshop facilitation Ability to work with Integrated Service Team Education Basic First Aid and CPR certificate Food Safe and Physical Activity Leadership Certification Valid Drive's License, preferably class 4 Minimum Grade 12 What We Offer Relocation and/or housing support may be provided. Requirements

Requires at least six months of community work with First Nations people and three years of experience in a health organization, along with communication, scheduling, problem-solving, computer, and workshop facilitation skills. Required qualifications include Grade 12, Basic First Aid and CPR, Food Safe and Physical Activity Leadership certifications, and a valid driver's license, preferably Class 4.
