We are seeking an experienced Application Database Engineer to manage and integrate a hybrid data landscape across on-premise and private cloud environments. The ideal candidate will have strong experience in Oracle, Starburst-based data federation, and private cloud platforms such as Snowflake and Databricks, with a proven ability to implement and govern Apache Iceberg to enable interoperability and performance across platforms. Responsibilities: Administer and maintain on-premise Oracle databases and private cloud instances of Snowflake and Databricks. Manage and optimize Starburst to provide a unified, high-performance data federation layer. Implement and manage Apache Iceberg as the open table format to ensure interoperability across all data platforms. Ensure seamless data integration, performance tuning, and high availability between on-premise and cloud systems. Collaborate with data analytics and engineering teams to build and support a scalable, modern data ecosystem. Required Skills & Qualifications: Strong experience with on-premise Oracle database administration. Hands-on expertise with data federation platforms, specifically Starburst or Trino. Proven experience with private cloud data platforms, including Snowflake and Databricks. Deep, practical experience with Apache Iceberg table format and architecture. Expertise in data modeling, cross-platform integration, and performance optimization in a hybrid environment. Experience level: 10+ years. Preferred Skills: Automation of data platform operations and CI/CD for analytics workloads. Observability practices across query engines and storage layers.
