Job Title: SAP BTP Developer Location: Scarborough, ON (Onsite) Estimated Duration: 12 Months Reporting Structure Reports directly to Manager, SAP Services and Support Experience/Education Requirements University Degree in computer science or related discipline 8+ years’ experience in application design and development, including solid hands-on experience in conceptualization, modelling and developing BTP applications Cloud Application Programming & Node.js: Proven experience developing production-grade applications using the Cloud Application Programming Model (CAP), SAPUI5/OpenUI5 and Node.js. Cloud foundry developed on BAS: Experience working with the custom apps on BTP cloud foundry, knowledge of scopes, roles related to these apps. Knowledge of SAP BTP Identity Authentication Service (IAS) for secure logons/SSO and the Identity Provisioning Service (IPS) will be an asset Experience with API (OData) integrations and microservices architecture. Knowledge of using Azure DevOps for CI/CD deployments Experience with AI-assisted code development would be an asset. Frontend / SAP UI5: Deep understanding of SAPUI5/Fiori development principles, architectural patterns, and custom UI development & deployment particularly on BTP cloud foundry. Excellent SAP Frontend debugging and problem-solving skills to dissect complex, custom-built Apps during critical incidents. Module Familiarity: Prior experience supporting following SAP areas will be an asset Warranty/Claims Vehicle Management System (VMS) Material Management Sales & Distribution Finance Procure to Pay Tools & Environment: Familiarity with SAP Business Technology Platform (BTP), SAP Business Application Studio (BAS) for building Cloud Foundry applications, Azure CI/CD knowledge, VS Code, and Git for version control, SAP Cloud Connector, BTP Integration Suite – API Management (Nice to have) Strong communication, facilitation, and stakeholder management skills Understanding of automotive supply chain, vehicle tracking, or warranty processing would be an asset. Nice to have: BTP HANA Cloud experience Purpose of the Role Work as the SAP BTP App Developer responsible for SAP BTP Development: Provide end-to-end governance for frontend (Fiori/UI5) solutions for custom apps on BTP Cloud Foundry. Design frontend/ SAP UI5 development initiatives for SAP Modules such as VMS, SD, MM, warranty & claimsDebug & Develop SAP applications using SAP Cloud Application Programming Model (CAP), and Fiori/UI5/node.js following the best practices and SAP principles Proven ability to write clear requirement documents, Technical Specifications (TS) and Unit Test Plans (UTP). Act as a trusted advisor to business and dealer stakeholders, ensuring business objectives are accurately translated into actionable solution designs/requirement and communicating technical capabilities in clear business terms while simplifying technical concepts, impacts, and decisions for non-technical audiences. Support Incidents triaging & production stability by guiding complex incident resolution for SAP Modules listed above Review deliverables of Enhancements and New app(s) of Custom apps on BTP cloud foundry (Design, Code, Test results) from AMS Team, and ensure adherence to timelines, standards, and best practices. Works closely with Functional Analysts, Project Managers, Business teams, and AMS teams Scope or Impact Supports multiple high-visibility, dealer-facing SAP UI5 Applications Works across cross-functional teams (Business, SAP Functional analysts, Solution Architects, AMS Vendors) Impacts delivery timelines, product quality, and customer experience Drives continuous improvement (Kaizen) and best practice sharing (Yokoten) Works closely with Functional Analysts, Project Managers, Business teams, and AMS teams Accountabilities and Responsibilities SAP Custom Application Development: Design, build, and maintain our custom-developed BTP cloud foundry applications using the Cloud Application Programming Model (CAP) & SAP UI5/Node.js. Should have strong knowledge of Custom Application concept on BTP Cloud Foundry Production Support & Incident Management: Own the analysis as Frontend/ Full stack developer, troubleshooting, and resolution of incidents across our custom SAP UI5 apps based on SAP modules we use. Integration & API Management: Build and consume secure, high-performance OData services and RESTful APIs to connect S/4HANA with our custom applications hosted on BTP cloud foundry. Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner closely with functional consultants across VMS, Warranty, Finance, SD, Procure to Pay and MM to translate complex automotive business requirements into elegant technical solutions.
