Job details
Construction AI Startup · Hybrid / Remote About Us We're solving one of the largest problems in the physical world: public infrastructure that's too slow and too expensive to build. Construction is a $17 trillion global industry, and it runs on human expertise that doesn't scale, so we're building the AI that understands what to build and how to build it. We start with the costliest problems general contractors face: the multi-million-dollar bidding and estimating decisions that off-the-shelf AI tools can't touch. Tyce is already live in production with industry landmark general contractors, estimating costs on multi-million-dollar builds and helping them win more bids. We're building a product engineering team we believe can run a company worth a billion dollars. Competitive salary and equity. Role Overview This role is built for an experienced estimator ready to move from the field into product. You'll work closely with product, design, QA, and sales to make sure Tyce's platform is the sharpest tool an estimator can put in front of a bid. You'll bring the judgment of someone who has carried a bid from first look to submission, and use it to shape what we build next. We are looking for Estimators in the U.S. and/or Canada for a Remote/Hybrid position. What You'll Do Partner with product and engineering to define and prioritize platform features built for estimators, from first spec to shipped feature Translate construction and estimating workflows into clear product requirements: the kind an engineer can build from and an estimator would recognize as their own process Test new features against real bid scenarios, catch gaps before customers do, and sign off on what's ready to ship Support sales and customer success in conversations with general contractors and subcontractors, speaking the language of estimators and answering the technical questions a demo alone can't Act as the voice of the estimator inside Tyce, pressure-testing every workflow against how bids actually get won What You Have A four-year degree and/or 3+ years of experience in Estimating, Purchasing, or Quantity Surveying, ideally on projects $20M or greater Fluency reading commercial, industrial, and civil infrastructure construction plans and specifications Ability to build scope from incomplete drawings or ambiguous information, and to run an estimate independently from kickoff to bid submission Comfort explaining complex estimating data to audiences ranging from fellow estimators to engineers who've never seen a bid package A go-getter mindset: personal agency, fast learning, and strong verbal and written communication Genuine pride in the craft of estimating and a drive to win work Working knowledge of Excel, Bluebeam, AGTEK, Building Connected, and HCSS HeavyBid Sharp attention to detail and comfort working in a fast-moving, technical environment What We Offer Competitive salary plus meaningful equity in an early-stage company A founding-level seat on a 10-person product engineering team with direct influence over architecture and product direction A close-knit, collaborative startup environment where every voice is heard and every opinion matters A learning & growth stipend Hybrid work based in Toronto, ON Check us out at https://www.tyce.ai/
