Winter term 2027 Vacancy: 1 Salary: 7717.92$* *As indicated in Appendix A of the collective agreement for part-time professors. Functions: A Part-Time Professor is required for the following course: Term Course code Course title Faculty Winter 2027 HUM 1502 Ecological literacy Faculties of Human Sciences and Philosophy Description of the delivery mode: This type of course is offered in the classroom, in the presence of the professor and students. Date Schedule Mode of Delivery Language January 11, 2027-April 14, 2027 Monday 9:00 AM-12:00PM In person French Course description: Introduction to basic ecological literacy and its importance to Environmental Humanities, and the interconnected fields of leadership, ecology and equity. Topics include evolution and planetary processes necessary to understand the significance of climate change, species extinction, and the hydrologic cycle, and their significance to social issues. Required experience and qualifications: * A M.A. or Ph.D. in environmental science or a related field. * Demonstrated knowledge of ecosystem functioning and environmental processes associated with climate change, biodiversity loss, and disruptions to hydrological cycles. * Demonstrated ability to articulate the interconnections between environmental sciences and the environmental humanities. * Fluency in French and passive understanding of the second official language (English). * Expertise in community-based and/or experiential pedagogical approaches in adult education. * Demonstrated sensitivity to diverse abilities, genders, cultures, and other dimensions of diversity, as well as to students’ concerns and needs. * Proficiency in online learning technologies (e.g., Zoom and Brightspace).
