The Office of Quality Assurance, within the Office of the Associate Vice President Academic (AVPA), guides new undergraduate program development, leads the cyclical review of graduate and undergraduate programs, and manages ongoing and annual curriculum changes across undergraduate, associate diploma, and University of Guelph-Humber curricula. Reporting to the Director, Academic Programs and Policy, the Manager, Curriculum and Academic Quality Assurance is a key position within a client-focused team providing expert advice on undergraduate programs, curriculum, academic policy, and quality assurance. The Manager leads quality assurance and curriculum management activities across the University of Guelph, the University of Guelph-Humber, and the Ridgetown campus, working closely with faculty, staff, students, Associate Deans, Chairs, and external reviewers to support program excellence. Duties and Responsibilities Facilitate the cyclical program review process for a portfolio of undergraduate and graduate programs. Steward proposals through complex governance processes associated with developing new undergraduate programs and major modifications to existing programs. Support the ongoing process of curriculum renewal, innovation, and strategic positioning of undergraduate programs in alignment with the University’s strategic plans, emerging trends, and the University's commitment to Indigenization, Equity, Diversity, Inclusion, and Accessibility. Assist in the assessment of, and support accountability for, the quality of graduate and undergraduate programs. Ensure accuracy and consistency in curriculum documentation and governance submissions. Represent the office on various governance committees. Liaise with faculty, staff, Associate Deans, Chairs, and external visitors on curriculum and quality assurance matters. Requirements To be considered for this role, candidates should have: Master’s degree in Education, Governance, Curriculum, or Program Administration plus 3 to 5 years of related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Demonstrated ability to develop positive relationships and work collaboratively and transparently with senior academics and administrative leaders in support of curriculum innovation and development, and academic strategic planning. Experience in project management, curriculum analysis, and academic planning. Thorough and detailed knowledge of the principles of curriculum development. Extensive knowledge of academic policies and procedures. Thorough and detailed understanding of the university and college systems in Ontario including academic governance processes, the Quality Assurance Framework, and the Ministry of Colleges, Universities, Research Excellence and Security legislative and regulatory framework. Strong interpersonal skills, especially tact and diplomacy to interact effectively with administrators, faculty, staff, and students. Proven ability to manage confidential and/or sensitive information and exercise professionalism and discretion in handling such information. Strong analytical skills; combined with demonstrated problem solving and conflict resolution skills. Excellent oral and written communication skills. A high degree of initiative, flexibility, and the ability to work independently and under pressure. Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy, particularly when reviewing complex curriculum documentation and ensuring compliance with academic policy and governance requirements. Demonstrated proficiency in computer applications (MS Office) and curriculum management systems; familiarity with student information systems would be an asset.
