What We Offer Full-time | 1-Year Term | Fredericton | On-Campus Standard Work Hours: Mon - Fri | 8:15 am - 4:30 pm | 36.25 hours per week Salary Range: $67,128 - $87,268 per annum YOUR FOCUS Reporting to the Executive Director, the Qualitative Research Coordinator will support the delivery of research for First Nation communities by co-ordinating and conducting qualitative research activities, including participant engagement, data collection, analysis, and knowledge dissemination. The position will contribute to the successful execution of project objectives by working through high-quality research processes and supporting the translation of findings into meaningful outcomes for partners, stakeholders and the broader community. Coordinate qualitative and mixed-methods research projects from initiation through completion. Develop and maintain project plans, timelines, milestones, and tracking tools to support on-time project delivery. Monitor project progress, identify risks and challenges, and recommend solutions to support project objectives. Organize and coordinate project meetings, stakeholder consultations, focus groups, interviews, and research activities. Prepare project documentation, progress reports, ethics submissions, and research materials. Coordinate communication among investigators, collaborators, community partners, health sector stakeholders, and study participants. Ensure compliance with university policies, research ethics requirements, funding obligations, and project protocols. Support grant administration, including project reporting, documentation, and deliverable tracking. Maintain accurate records of project activities, decisions, correspondence, and research outputs. Develop interview guides, focus group protocols, recruitment materials, consent forms, and data collection tools. Recruit study participants and communicate with them in accordance with approved research and ethical protocols. Conduct qualitative interviews, focus groups, consultations, and stakeholder engagement activities in virtual and in-person settings. Coordinate participant scheduling and maintain communication throughout research activities. Record, organize, clean, and securely manage research data in accordance with privacy and confidentiality requirements. Perform qualitative coding and thematic analysis using appropriate research methodologies and software. Review transcripts and research materials to identify key themes, trends, and findings. Conduct literature reviews, environmental scans, evidence syntheses, and background research. Collaborate with research teams to interpret findings and develop actionable recommendations. Prepare research summaries, briefing notes, technical reports, presentations, manuscripts, and other knowledge translation products. Translate complex research findings into accessible formats for diverse audiences, including community organizations, policymakers, healthcare leaders, Indigenous partners, and researchers. Support knowledge-sharing activities, including conferences, webinars, workshops, stakeholder meetings, and community engagement events. Build and maintain partnerships with research collaborators, community organizations, Indigenous communities, healthcare organizations, and knowledge users. Respond to stakeholder and partner inquiries related to project activities and research findings. Support the development of academic publications, conference abstracts, posters, and presentations. Contribute to knowledge mobilization strategies that increase the reach and impact of research findings. Represent the Institute on committees, working groups, and stakeholder meetings, as assigned. What You Bring Master of Science (MSc) degree in Epidemiology, Public Health, Health Research required Minimum of 10 years of progressive experience conducting applied health research Familiarity with Indigenous data governance principles, including OCAP and community led research approaches Additional Strengths Experience in preparing and managing Research Ethics Board applications and approvals Experience in leading participant recruitment and community-based data collection initiatives Experience in translating research findings into reports, presentations, policy briefs and other knowledge mobilisation products Expertise in qualitative research design, implementation and analysis Ability to work independently while maintaining strong collaborative relationships with diverse partners and stakeholders Exceptional project management, organizational and communication skills Strong understanding of Indigenous health research principles and ethical research practices

What you’ll do

Requirements
