Our client is seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Legal Assistant to join its Business Law Practice Group and support its tax team. The successful candidate will provide high-level administrative and legal support to lawyers working on complex business law and tax matters. RESPONSIBILITIES Prepare, format, revise, and proofread correspondence, tax memoranda, and legal documents Assist with corporate reorganizations, tax planning matters, and related documentation Open, maintain, organize, and close physical and electronic client files Coordinate client communications, meetings, and document execution Manage calendars, deadlines, and bring-forward systems to ensure the timely completion of work Provide billing support and assist with document and file management Liaise with clients, accountants, and other external professionals Support compliance with internal procedures and Law Society requirements Respond promptly and professionally to client needs Work collaboratively within a team environment, sharing workloads and files as required Perform other administrative and legal support duties as assigned QUALIFICATIONS Legal Assistant Diploma from a recognized post-secondary institution At least one year of experience supporting a Business Law practice Previous tax experience is considered an asset Experience with NetDocuments or another document management system is considered an asset Excellent organizational skills and strong attention to detail Proficiency with Microsoft Office Strong verbal and written communication skills Ability to prioritize effectively and manage multiple responsibilities in a busy, dynamic practice Excellent interpersonal skills and a collaborative, team-oriented approach If this sounds like the right opportunity for you, I would love to hear from you!
