JOB DESCRIPTION RESPONSIBILITIES Provide accounting, budgeting, financial reporting, and analytical support for a regional portfolio of real estate development and rental properties. Prepare project budgets, project proformas, variance analysis, and financial reporting for the Regional Real Estate Team. Support financial analysis and due diligence for potential acquisitions and dispositions. Support the preparation of Board Reports, including financial tables and related analysis. Record financial transactions into the general ledger, including invoicing, cash receipts, accounts payable, land sales, revenue recognition, cost of sales, overhead allocations, capitalization, and journal entries. Prepare monthly, quarterly, and year-end reporting and analysis. Complete general ledger reconciliations and prepare job cost, contract listing, capital expenditure, commitment, sales, acquisition, and letter of credit reports. Prepare Joint Venture reporting, budgeting, analysis, invoicing, and monthly financial statements, where applicable. Support interim and year-end audit information requests. Assist with preparation of the consolidated budget package and five-year Corporate Plan. Ensure completeness and accuracy of financial data imported into JDE. Participate in annual project budget meetings with the Regional Real Estate Team. Manage and maintain financial commitments for the assigned portfolio. Review invoice coding, supporting documentation, and payment requests. Liaise with the Head Office Accounts Payable Team regarding AP matters. Provide procurement support and financial analysis to the Real Estate Team. Review and analyze monthly reporting for rental operations managed by third-party property managers. Liaise with property managers to ensure accurate and timely financial reporting. Review financial terms of lease agreements. Support rental portfolio budgeting and capital investment tracking. Monitor receivables, collections, and cash receipt processing. Record land sales, including review of sales agreements, statements of adjustments, and cash receipts. Prepare and record bank deposits for assigned projects. MUST HAVES CPA designation. 5–7 years of progressive accounting experience. Post-secondary degree or diploma in business, finance, or accounting. Thorough understanding of IFRS. Advanced Microsoft Excel skills. Strong financial reporting, general ledger, reconciliation, and variance analysis experience. ASSETS / GOOD TO HAVES Real estate accounting experience. Land development accounting experience. JD Edwards (JDE) experience. Insight experience. Joint Venture accounting and reporting experience. Experience working with third-party property managers. FIT Strong analytical and critical thinking skills. High attention to detail. Adaptable and comfortable managing changing priorities. Strong problem-solving skills. Results-oriented. Strong service mindset. Able to work under pressure and manage tight deadlines, conflicting demands, and heavy workloads.
