Job summary

Our client, is seeking a Senior Payroll Specialist to join their team. This role is ideal for an experienced payroll professional who thrives in a fast-paced environment and enjoys working cross-functionally to ensure accurate Canadian and US payroll processing, compliance, and continuous process improvement. Key Responsibilities Process accurate and timely payroll for both Canadian and U.S. employees on a semi-monthly payroll cycle. Review, audit, and reconcile payroll data to ensure accuracy and resolve discrepancies. Maintain employee payroll records and ensure compliance with payroll tax regulations and legislative requirements. Research and resolve payroll tax inquiries and support payroll compliance initiatives. Assist with quarter-end and year-end payroll activities, including reconciliations and reporting. Collaborate with internal stakeholders to identify opportunities for process improvements and support system enhancements. Ensure compliance with federal, provincial/state, and local payroll legislation, as well as internal controls and audit requirements. Maintain the confidentiality and integrity of payroll and employee records. Respond to employee payroll inquiries in a timely and professional manner. Support equity compensation administration, including maintaining participant records, processing equity-related transactions, reconciling data, and preparing reports. Assist with payroll projects as required. Qualifications Experience processing both Canadian and U.S. payroll is considered a strong asset. Strong understanding of payroll legislation, payroll tax compliance, and payroll best practices. Exceptional attention to detail with strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines. Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office and cloud-based productivity tools. Comfortable working in a dynamic, fast-paced environment and adapting to changing business needs.
