Controller - 6 month contract

Our client, a well-established, privately held industrial services organization with multiple entities across Canada, is seeking a Senior Controller to lead their accounting function through a period of continued growth. Reporting to the CFO, you’ll own financial reporting and consolidation across the group while acting as financial lead for one of the larger operating entities. This is a hands-on role combining technical accounting depth with team leadership in a fast-paced private-company environment. Key Responsibilities Own monthly, quarterly, and annual close and consolidation across all entities (ASPE) Lead intercompany accounting, eliminations, and reporting integrity Manage the external audit process end-to-end and serve as primary contact for auditors and advisors Manage and mentor a team of 2–3 accounting professionals Drive process and systems improvements, including SAGE 300 optimization Partner with leadership on financial analysis and strategic initiatives What You Bring CPA designation (required) 8–12+ years of progressive accounting experience, including industry Comfortable rolling up sleeves and acting in an execution based role where required Strong multi-entity and corporate accounting background Proven experience leading external audits and managing staff SAGE 300 or similar mid-market ERP experience an asset **DISCLAIMER** How to Apply Click the “Apply Now” button and follow the instructions to submit your resume. The Controller will lead the monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes and consolidations across multiple entities using ASPE standards. Additionally, they will manage the external audit process and mentor a team of accounting professionals.

Candidates must hold a CPA designation and possess 8–12+ years of progressive accounting experience. Proven expertise in multi-entity accounting, managing staff, and using SAGE 300 or similar ERP systems is required.
