Job Summary Job Title: Family Physician/Emergency Physician Work Site: North East Urgent & Primary Care Clinic Status: Part Time, Full Time (0.20 - 0.6 FTE) Start Date: To be mutually agreed upon Compensation Type: Clinical Service Contract Come work as a Family Physician / Emergency Physician with Vancouver Coastal Health (VCH)! This is an opportunity for a Family Physician (FP) or Emergency Physician (EP) to work either in a full-time or part-time position at the North East Urgent and Primary Care Clinic (UPCC) in Vancouver. The NE UPCC provides urgent care for patients with non-life-threatening injuries, illnesses and conditions that should be addressed within 12 to 24 hours, but do not require the service and expertise of a hospital emergency department (CTAS 3,4,5). The UPCC will operate 7 days per week, year round, Mon-Sat 0800-2200 and Sunday and Holidays from 0900-1700. The clinic provides team-based care, with off-site rapid access to X-ray, ultrasound and labs. Patients are linked to appropriate care pathways that include specialist, social service, and primary care. Of particular note: all treatment and follow-up will be carefully integrated with existing Primary Care providers, and patients will be supported to find Primary Care if unattached. The Vancouver NE UPCC supports a healthy work-life balance and will focus on the professional development and satisfaction of its multidisciplinary team. The clinic supports learning, skill development and continuous quality improvement through clinical simulation exercises and a range of quality improvement initiatives. Qualifications Education, Licensing, & Experience: Canadian College of Family Practitioners (CCFP) Eligible – Mandatory Canadian Medical Protective Association (CMPA) – Mandatory Current College of Physicians of BC (CPSBC) License - Full Knowledge & Abilities: Combines current or recent experience in primary care along with urgent or emergent care, with a clear understanding of the role and importance of foundational primary care, with the ability to integrate the two. Must be eligible for the Canadian College of Family Practitioners (CCFP) and hold a current College of Physicians of BC (CPSBC) license. Requires experience in primary care combined with urgent or emergent care settings.
