Job category: Professionals Department: Payroll Services Immediate Supervisor: Jessica Sarah Eugenio Position status: Regular, Full-Tome Contract length: Permanent Work location: Cégep Vanier Work schedule: Monday to Friday, 8:30 a.m. – 4:30 p.m. (35 hours/week) External posting start date: October 6, 2026 Salary scale: $55,812 - $95,643 Expected start date: As soon as possible Job Title: Analyst (Payroll Services) Description Under the supervision of the Manager of Payroll Services, the Analyst is responsible for the analysis, development, coordination and monitoring of all payroll systems, methods and processes. More specifically, while maintaining uninterrupted payroll services, the incumbent ensures maximized efficiency of the system’s programming functions and the system complies with all regulations and other requirements. More specifically, but not limited to, the analyst is responsible for: Ensures deadlines are respected and ensures all payroll records are maintained in good standing and ensuring confidentiality; Takes part in reconciling all payroll accounts as well as performing the analysis on a monthly basis in accordance with the General Ledger and preparing journal entries as required; Develops, proposes and implements payroll policies and procedures after official approval; Conceptualizes, develops and updates payroll procedures with the objective of maximizing efficiency; Ensures compliance with all College policies and procedures, including all government rules and regulations; Liaises with Human Resource Services in order to ensure that Payroll activities complies with College policies and collective agreements; Takes part in the production of the year-end reports, tax information slips (all tax forms and summaries related to payroll) and any CNESST reports required; Takes part in the production of all the Retraite Québec reports and prepares reconciliations; Organizes for reconciliations to be done on a quarterly basis of all leave of absences and the production of the year-end report in preparation for the Audit; Assists in the generation of reports related to any Payroll information needed in collaboration with the external auditors; Liaises with governmental organizations and the College’s financial institution, as necessary, for any Payroll matters. Other related tasks which falls within the scope of the classification of this position may be assigned. Schedule: Monday – Friday, 8:30 a.m. – 4:30 p.m. (35 hrs/week) Classification: Analyst Salary: $55,812 - $95,643 Requirements An Undergraduate degree in Business Administration, Accounting or Finance or any other appropriate field of specialization. Conditions Related To The Specific Position At least two (2) years of pertinent payroll related experience; Extensive knowledge of payroll regulations, procedures and systems, preferably those used in the educational sector, ideally those used in the Cégep network (to be tested); Knowledge of Finance systems used in the Education sector, ideally those used in the Cégep network and Government pension plans; Strong English and French oral and written communication skills (to be tested); Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Office Word and Excel (to be tested); Demonstrated ability to work independently and autonomously; High level of attention to details and accuracy; Ability to work to tight timelines; Excellent organizational and customer service relations skill.

Requirements

Candidates should have payroll regulations and systems knowledge, familiarity with education-sector finance systems and government pension plans, strong English and French communication skills, intermediate Word and Excel skills, and the ability to work independently with accuracy and meet tight deadlines.
