Key Responsibilities Assist veterinarians with examinations, treatments, and surgical procedures Administer medications, vaccines, and treatments as prescribed by the veterinarian Monitor anesthesia and patient vitals during surgical and dental procedures Collect and prepare laboratory samples (blood, urine, fecal) and perform diagnostic testing as required Take and process diagnostic radiographs and assist with imaging procedures Provide nursing care for hospitalized patients, including monitoring recovery and patient comfort Educate clients on treatment plans, medications, preventative care, and post-procedure instruction Maintain accurate medical records and documentation in the hospital management system Prepare and maintain examination rooms, treatment areas, and surgical suites Ensure equipment and instruments are properly cleaned, sterilized, and maintained Collaborate with veterinarians and hospital team members to support efficient workflow and high-quality patient care Provide mentorship or guidance to veterinary assistants and students Qualifications Registered or eligible for registration as a Registered Veterinary Technician in the applicable provincial regulatory body Graduate of an accredited Veterinary Technician/Technology program Strong technical skills including anesthesia monitoring, laboratory procedures, and radiography Experience in surgery, anesthesia monitoring, and dental procedures considered an asset Excellent patient care and animal handling skills Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to support clients and collaborate with team members Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail and high standards of care Compassionate, reliable, and committed to delivering exceptional patient and client care What We Can Offer You Competitive compensation that reflects your skills, experience, and the role.
