Role Overview We are seeking a motivated Entry-level Geochemist with a strong interest in data, analytics, and computational tools to support environmental, mining, and exploration geochemistry programs. This role is ideal for someone who has a strong foundation in geochemistry and enjoys working with large datasets, building reproducible workflows, and moving beyond complex Excel-based analyses. The ideal candidate will primarily support mine-related geochemical testing programs, while also contributing to exploration geochemistry data analysis. The role is designed to build a strong technical foundation under the guidance of senior geochemists. Key Responsibilities Support mine-related geochemical testing programs (e.g., static tests, kinetic tests, water quality datasets) Manage, clean, and QA/QC geochemical datasets (laboratory and field data) Develop automated workflows using Python and/or R for data processing, analysis, and visualization Assist with analysis and interpretation of exploration geochemistry data (soil, rock, drilling datasets) Prepare tables, figures, and summaries for technical reports Help transition complex spreadsheet-based workflows into reproducible, auditable tools Collaborate with senior staff to ensure data integrity and traceability Qualifications & Experience B.Sc. degree in Earth Science, Geology, Environmental Science, Environmental Engineering or a related field 0-2 years experience Eligible for GIT (Geoscientist-in-Training) or EIT (Engineer-in-Training) designation Experience with Python and/or R (coursework, thesis, or project-based experience is acceptable) Experience with geospatial software (e.g., QGIS) Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with experience preparing technical documents and presentations Self-motivated and able to manage tasks independently while balancing multiple priorities Demonstrated interest in continuous learning and tackling complex technical challenges Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Word and Excel Preferred Qualifications & Experience M.Sc. or Ph.D. degree in Geochemistry, Earth Science, Geology, Environmental Science, Environmental Engineering or a related field Experience with geochemical modelling tools (i.e., PHREEQC, The Geochemist’s Workbench) Experience with cleaning and managing mineral exploration databases Working-level fluency in French Located within Sudbury or Northern Ontario Why
