Job Summary We are seeking a full-time responsible and vigilant Traffic Control Person (TCP)/ Flagger/Labourer to ensure traffic control safety for our line /splicing crews and the public for our telecom network construction projects in Halifax, NS. The ideal candidate will play a vital role in directing traffic, maintaining safety protocols, and supporting construction operations. Duties & Responsibilities Adhere to all company safety policies and procedures Directing traffic to ensure safe and efficient flow Setting up and maintaining traffic control devices Implementing detours and lane closures as needed Communicating effectively with team members and line/splicing crew teams Enforcing safety regulations and procedures Responding promptly to emergencies and incidents Maintaining accurate records of activities and incidents Drive and operate company vehicle Knowledge and Skills Excellent communication and interpersonal skills Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment Strong attention to detail and situational awareness Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions/ standing for extended periods Valid Certification in traffic control / or willingness to pursue this certification Strong manual dexterity, hand-eye coordination, and attention to detail Ability to work in all weather conditions, confined spaces, isolation Ability to work construction in a physically demanding atmosphere including, but is not limited to: carry, raise and climb a ladder, carry, lift and handle heavy equipment (manhole covers, cable reels) Strong commitment to health and safety Self-disciplined, motivated, organized, and a team player Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with tight deadlines and repetitive tasks Additional Requirements High school diploma or equivalent Valid driver's license with clean driving record Possess or be willing to obtain Airbrakes endorsement, Willingness to work rotationally, overtime, weekends, or on emergency call outs as required; Ability to travel (Company provides paid travel, accommodations and a daily per-diem when on rotation); The successful candidate will be required to pass a criminal record check. Experience Required Traffic Control training/certification At least 1 year of manual labour experience Experience driving a company vehicle is considered an asset Related experience in a telecommunications environment is considered a definite asset Compensation And Benefits Compensation is commensurate with experience and skill level (Ranging from $20.00/hr to $22.00 Hour (CDN)) Weekly Pay Cycle Group Insurance Benefits Package (Health/Dental, Life, AD&D, Vision/ LTD) – Company pays 50% of premiums Company Matched RRSP Contributions Employee Referral Bonus Employee Discounts
