Job summary

KEEP MAINTENANCE MOVING, SAFE, AND AUDIT-READY In manufacturing, maintenance reliability doesn't start when a technician picks up a wrench. It starts long before that. The right parts need to be available. Work orders need to be accurate. Preventative maintenance needs to be planned. Safety requirements need to be identified. Records need to stand up to audits. When those pieces aren't managed properly, downtime increases, costs rise, and compliance risks follow. As a Maintenance Planning & Inventory Coordinator at WDP Processing, you'll be responsible for maintaining the systems, inventory, and coordination processes that support safe, compliant, and reliable plant operations. Working closely with Maintenance, Operations, Procurement, Safety, and Quality, you'll ensure work orders are properly structured, materials are available when needed, and maintenance activities are supported by accurate records and strong planning. This is a role for someone who enjoys bringing organization to complex environments and understands that strong maintenance execution starts with strong preparation. IS THIS YOU? * You like creating order where others see moving parts and competing priorities. * You notice discrepancies before they become operational problems. * You understand that inventory accuracy, maintenance planning, and safety compliance are closely connected. * You take pride in accurate records, disciplined processes, and work that helps others succeed. WHAT YOU'LL DO KEEP INVENTORY ACCURATE AND RELIABLE * Maintain inventory records that accurately reflect physical stock and support maintenance execution. * Perform cycle counts, investigate discrepancies, and take action to resolve issues before they impact operations. * Track parts usage against work orders to improve inventory control, cost visibility, and maintenance planning. * Ensure inventory information remains accurate, organized, and dependable for operational decision-making. ENSURE CRITICAL PARTS ARE AVAILABLE * Manage inventory levels based on equipment needs, usage patterns, lead times, and operational priorities. * Coordinate the availability of parts and materials required for preventative maintenance and scheduled work. * Support urgent maintenance activities by helping secure required materials and minimizing delays caused by inventory shortages. MAINTAIN WORK ORDER AND PM SYSTEM INTEGRITY * Support the preventative maintenance program by ensuring work orders are accurate, complete, and properly maintained. * Create, update, assign, and track work orders in alignment with operational priorities and resource availability. * Ensure parts, materials, and maintenance activities are properly documented and connected within the system. * Generate reports that support maintenance performance tracking, preventative maintenance completion, and continuous improvement efforts. COORDINATE ACROSS TEAMS * Partner with Maintenance, Operations, Procurement, Safety, Quality, and external vendors to support maintenance execution. * Coordinate materials, services, and resources needed to complete maintenance activities efficiently. * Track action items, commitments, and maintenance-related initiatives through to completion. * Build strong working relationships that help reduce delays and improve plant reliability. SUPPORT COMPLIANCE, SAFETY, AND QUALITY * Help ensure inventory, materials handling, and preventative maintenance activities support safe, compliant, and audit-ready operations. * Follow Health & Safety, WHMIS, and environmental requirements related to the storage, handling, and use of materials. * Incorporate safety and quality requirements into work orders and preventative maintenance activities, including hazard awareness, compliance checks, and proper material selection. * Maintain inventory and maintenance records that support traceability and audit readiness within regulated food manufacturing environments. * Identify and address gaps that could impact compliance with HACCP, SQF, GMP, or internal standards. WHAT YOU'LL BRING * 2+ years of experience in inventory control, maintenance coordination, maintenance planning, or a related role within a manufacturing or industrial environment. * Experience working with CMMS or ERP systems such as SAP, Maximo, Fiix, or similar platforms. * Strong organizational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively. * Working knowledge of inventory management practices, materials handling, and maintenance support processes. * Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Word, and computerized inventory or maintenance systems. * Exposure to Health & Safety practices, including WHMIS, hazard identification, and safe materials handling. * Formal Health & Safety training or certification is considered an asset. * Post-secondary education in Supply Chain, Logistics, Maintenance Management, Occupational Health & Safety, or a related field is considered an asset. WHY THIS ROLE MATTERS * Reliable maintenance depends on more than technicians and tools. * It depends on accurate inventory, organized work orders, effective coordination, and disciplined processes that support safety, compliance, and operational reliability. * Your work will help ensure maintenance teams have what they need, when they need it, while supporting the standards required in a modern food manufacturing facility. Join WD Processing Inc. and help build the systems that keep our operation safe, reliable, and ready for what's next.
