Working as part of a friendly and close-knit team, you will: Carry out a range of domestic tasks to maintain hygiene standards Cleaning residents’ rooms including ensuites, furniture and equipment, as appropriate, and communal and administrative areas Ensure common living areas, hallways and all other areas of the facility (including front entrance courtyards, verandas) are maintained in a clean and tidy and safe condition Ensure the safe storage, security and labelling of appropriate cleaning materials in line with the MSDS, and in consultation with the Residential Services Manager, while being aware of the environmental requirements of cleaning products and their disposal Replenishing cleaning liquids and materials whilst observing safety procedures Report stock shortages, breakages, building, equipment or furnishing defects promptly to the Residential Services Manager Availability to work the below shifts and days is essential for this role Week 1 Thursday 7am to 3.30pm Sunday 8am to 1.00pm Week 2 Thursday 7am to 3.30pm Friday 7am to 3.30pm Sunday 8am to 1.00pm It’s the people at VMCH that bring the positives. About You Interpersonal skills including the ability to communicate effectively and compassionately with residents, families, employees and volunteers; patience; common sense and an understanding of client services Demonstrated initiative and ability to work without supervision Well-developed prioritisation and organisational skills with the ability to meet deadlines Ability to operate with discretion and to maintain complete confidentiality Commitment to work as part of a team Experience in an aged care or hospital setting is preferred but not essential Why VMCH?
