Job details

JOB OPPORTUNITY - Bailiff: Service of process and enforcement of judgments Greater Montreal area: permanent territory Field-based (on the road), full-time Self-employed status Open posting: applications accepted at any time Who are we? Our client is a bailiff firm founded in 1989 that aims to break the overly rigid image of our field and reinvent the profession by adding a human and technological touch. Yes, the legal sector is a serious, professional environment, but we believe it can also be empathetic, dynamic, and motivating. Our signature approach: we execute differently. Everything we do is rooted in our R.I.R.E. values: Respect, Innovation, Results, and Enthusiasm. These aren't just words on a wall; they guide our practices, our decisions, and how we treat people-both internally and in the field. What we offer: A field-based bailiff position with a permanent territory in the Greater Montreal area. You get to know your territory, develop it, and reap the rewards. Thanks to our institutional, municipal, and private clients, our volume of mandates is stable, consistent, and growing. We are looking for a hardworking, available individual who wants to handle service of process, judgment enforcement, and official statements (constats), and who is eager to build something long-term with us. Your main tasks: Serving legal proceedings and documents within your territory. Enforcing civil and criminal judgments (seizure of movable property, vehicle seizures, evictions). Drafting official bailiff statements (*constats*). Writing official reports and records using our Juriweb / Jurisoft 2 software. Collecting payments from debtors and negotiating payment agreements. Daily communication with our dispatch and customer service team, providing support for your assignments (Microsoft Teams). Any other related tasks. What we're looking for: A reliable person who wants a long-term territory and is eager to practice the profession in a new way. Requirements Valid bailiff's license issued by the *Chambre des huissiers de justice du Québec*. Valid driver's license and reliable vehicle. Assets Bilingualism (French and English, spoken and written). Experience with service of process, enforcement of judgments, or official constatations. Comfort with technology (our bailiffs use digital tools daily). Qualities You are hardworking, available, and punctual. You are autonomous, organized, and thorough. You demonstrate good judgment, professionalism, and empathy in the field. You want a stable, long-term position and are driven to excel. Why join us? We know you have choices. So, why choose our client? A permanent territory: stability, predictability, and a volume of assignments that allows you to earn a great living. A voluntary retirement savings plan (VRSP) offered to our self-employed bailiffs-a rarity in our profession, because we care about your future. Forward-thinking, inclusive practices: equity, diversity, and inclusion (EDI), regular one-on-one meetings with team leaders, appreciation for quality work, and a culture of striving for excellence. A supportive team: dispatch, customer service, and fellow bailiffs. You're never alone on the road. A tech-forward firm: process automation and the gradual integration of artificial intelligence to make your life easier. Approachable bosses who know the field and invest in their people. Balance and stability: we've been in business since 1989! An ideal location in the heart of Old Montreal.
