About the Position: Reporting to the Team Leader, the Welder will be responsible for but not limited to: Assembling and welding Structural Steel. Rig, hoist and move materials to and from workstation. Performs crane checks daily prior to use to ensure the crane is in working condition, if applicable. Lay out reference points and symbols on the structural steel according to the blueprint. Operate welding equipment to fuse metal segments using processes such as flux-cored arc welding. Set up and operate various equipment such as torches, drills, various clamping tools, squares, disc grinders and other hand held tools. Ensure safe work practices are adhered to and appropriate PPE is worn at all times. Mentors apprentices and junior welders by sharing knowledge and safe work practices. Work Location: Princeton, ON Facility. Position Requirements: Minimum 2 years of welding structural steel experience. Completion of three year apprenticeship program in Metal Fabrication or Welding is an asset. Ability to read and interpret blueprints and weld symbols. Ability to read a tape measure in both metric and imperial. Ability to operate overhead cranes. Ability to weld with Fluxcore and Metalcore (FCAW/MCAW). Knowledge of Health and Safety procedures. A team player, who can interrelate and operate effectively with peers and other associates within a collegial, yet demanding, work environment. Organization Skills and the ability to be flexible in managing changing priorities. Communication skills – both written and oral. Attention to detail and high level of accuracy. Analytical and problem solving skills. Compensation Package: Wage: $22.00-$33.00/Hour Vacation. Paid sick and Bereavement leaves. Flexible extended health and dental care packages. The welder is responsible for assembling and welding structural steel according to blueprints while operating equipment such as torches, drills, and overhead cranes. They must also ensure safe work practices are followed and provide mentorship to apprentices and junior welders.

Candidates must have a minimum of 2 years of experience in structural steel welding and the ability to interpret blueprints and weld symbols. Proficiency in FCAW/MCAW welding processes and the ability to read metric and imperial measurements are required.
