Loraas has an immediate opening for a Journeyman Welder to join our team in Saskatoon, SK to work on a fleet of garbage trucks. As a Journeyman Welder, you will be building and performing repairs on metal container, welding trucks body, as well you may operate equipment and will be keeping the container storage yard organized. You will be responsible for maintaining Loraas vehicles and equipment in a safe working order. The Journeyman Welder will ensure that work performed will meet all provincial regulations and standards, and Loraas safety standards. As a condition of employment, all new employees to safety sensitive positions must successfully pass a substance test within a two-week period of their hiring date. Rate: $37.00 to $41.00/hour Shift: Monday to Friday – Day Shift Duties: Weld components using manual or semi-automatic welding equipment in various positions (vertical, horizontal or overhead) Read blueprints and drawings and take or read measurements to plan layout and procedures Determine the appropriate welding equipment or method based on requirements Test and inspect welded surfaces and structure to discover and fix any flaws What We Need From You: Certified Welder or Fabricator (Journeyman) 3-4 years of experience as a Heavy Duty Welding Must be able to pass all pre-employment tests Experience using a variety of welding equipment and procedures (TIG, MMA etc.) Experience in using electrical or manual tools (saws, squares, calipers etc.) Commercial Driving License is an asset What You’ll Get From Us: A team environment that embraces a "work hard, play harder" culture. The Journeyman Welder will perform welding and repairs on metal containers and fleet vehicles to ensure they meet safety and provincial standards. Responsibilities also include reading blueprints, maintaining equipment, and organizing the container storage yard.

Candidates must hold a Journeyman Welder or Fabricator certification and possess 3-4 years of heavy-duty welding experience. Proficiency with various welding equipment and the ability to pass pre-employment substance testing are mandatory.
