WATB Construction Inc. is a growing leader in concrete forming, structural, and excavation services across the GTA. Known for precision, safety, and high-performance execution, we are expanding and seeking a hands-on Heavy Machinery Operator to lead our excavation division on commercial and institutional projects. Key Responsibilities Lead and supervise excavation crews to deliver work safely, efficiently, and to specification Operate and oversee heavy equipment (excavators, skid steers, dozers, etc.) Read and understand Civil drawings, structural foundation plans, architectural plans Read and execute site plans, grades, benchmarks, and elevations with accuracy Set up and monitor laser levels, grade rods, and verify cuts/fills Plan daily operations, allocate manpower and equipment, and drive productivity Enforce site safety standards, conduct toolbox talks, and maintain a clean work environment Complete daily reports, inspections, and incident documentation What We’re Looking For Proven experience as an Excavation Foreman on commercial or institutional projects Strong ability to read drawings and execute work independently Solid understanding of grading, elevations, and cut/fill calculations Strong safety mindset with valid certifications (Working at Heights, WHMIS, etc.) Leadership mentality; able to manage crews, solve problems, and stay organized under pressure Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation What We Offer Competitive pay based on experience Year-round, steady work on major GTA projects Growth opportunities, build and lead your own division as we expand A company culture focused on performance, safety, and pride in workmanship

Requirements

Requires proven experience as an excavation foreman on commercial or institutional projects, with the ability to interpret construction drawings and independently execute excavation work. Candidates should understand grading, elevations, and cut-and-fill calculations, hold relevant safety certifications such as Working at Heights and WHMIS, and have a valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
