The Opportunity WHI is currently seeking Journeymen Welders to join our Fort MacKay team. Available schedules include: * 14 days on/ 14 days off, 12-hour shifts-Rotating Day & Night Shifts * 7 days on/ 7 days off, 12-hour shifts-Rotating Day & Night Shifts * Monday to Friday, 8-hour shifts-Rotating Day and Night Shift What you will do: Your primary responsibilities will include the repair and rebuilding of large mining equipment including; * Heavy haul truck boxes * Dozer blades * Shovel clam and backwall dippers What you bring to the position: * Proficiency in all position use of: GMAW, FCAW, SMAW * Experience working with various sizes of wire * Ability to read and interpret blueprints * Proficient in the use of oxy/fuel cutting equipment, electric welding machines * A strong commitment to participating in and supporting WHI's Safety Programs * A commitment to maintaining a clean, organized, and safe work environment at all times * Previous Oil Sands experience is an asset * A demonstrated and consistent commitment to workplace safety Your qualifications: * Red Seal or Alberta Journeyperson Welder Certification * Minimum one year of manufacturing experience is an asset * Valid fall protection & elevated work platform certificate * BSO/CSO Certification Required * Additional valid safety certifications are an asset What we offer: * Competitive wages and shift premiums * Living Out Allowance (LOA) * Personal growth, career advancement opportunities * A workplace built on safety, cleanliness, respect and results * Feedback and recognition for a job well done Please Note: ** WHI does not provide accommodation or transportation **Successful candidates will be required to complete a pre-employment medical evaluation as part of the hiring process ** Individuals who provide a valid Certificate of Indian Status may be eligible to have their employment income exempt from tax subject to applicable requirements. **Applications for this position may be kept on file for twelve months and may be considered for future positions within WHI.
