About the Opportunity Join our mill operations team as a Crusher Operator, where you’ll play an important role in the safe and efficient processing of ore. Working directly with the crushing circuit, you’ll operate and monitor crushers, feeders, conveyors, and screening equipment while maintaining consistent material flow and production. About YOU – You Belong Here! You are a safety-focused and mechanically minded individual who enjoys working with heavy equipment in a fast-paced environment. You have experience operating crushing, conveying, or similar equipment, ideally in a mining or aggregate setting, and are comfortable performing inspections, troubleshooting minor issues, and identifying when additional maintenance support is required. You communicate well, work effectively as part of a team, and take ownership of maintaining a clean, safe, and efficient work area. Position Responsibilities, Accountabilities and Job Duties Operation of Crushing Equipment: * Operate and monitor the apron feeder, cone crusher, jaw crusher, and conveyors. * Ensure smooth and continuous feeding of ore into the crushers. * Monitor and adjust the crusher settings to achieve the desired material size and quality. Material Handling and Processing: * Direct ore from the crushers onto conveyors for transportation to sizing screens. * Oversee the efficient sorting of fine and coarse material on the sizing screen. * Ensure correct material flow into the ore bin, with proper separation of fine and coarse materials. Pre-Operation Inspections & Maintenance: * Perform pre-operational checks on all equipment, including crushers, conveyors, and feeders. * Ensure all safety protocols are followed, and equipment is in proper working condition. * Conduct minor troubleshooting and maintenance tasks as required, and report any major issues to maintenance teams. Cleaning and Housekeeping: * Perform regular cleaning of crushers, conveyors, and surrounding areas to ensure safe and efficient operations. * Maintain a clean and organized work environment by disposing of materials in designated areas. Reporting & Documentation: * Maintain accurate records of material production, equipment performance, and any operational issues. * Communicate effectively with supervisors and maintenance teams regarding equipment malfunctions or any concerns. Safety Compliance: * Adhere to all safety protocols and company policies, including the use of personal protective equipment (PPE). * Report any safety hazards or violations promptly to supervisors. * Keep equipment clean and well-maintained to minimize downtime and prevent system failures. Reporting and Documentation: * Maintain accurate records of operations, including system performance, sample results, equipment maintenance, and safety inspections. * Document and report any issues or discrepancies to supervisors for follow-up. Additional Duties: * Perform other related tasks as required to support mill operations and ensure optimal performance of the tailings management systems. * Assist with training new employees on system operations, safety procedures, and best practices as needed. Qualifications and Experience * High school diploma or equivalent (technical/vocational training in a related field is a plus). * Previous experience operating crushers, feeders, conveyors, or similar equipment in a mining or aggregate environment. * Strong mechanical aptitude and ability to troubleshoot and repair minor equipment issues. * Ability to work in a physically demanding and fast-paced environment. * Excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively within a team. * Knowledge of safety procedures and regulations in mining or heavy equipment operations.
