Job Description The selected candidate will participate in on-call coverage for rheumatology consultations on inpatient wards and Emergency Department. Due to a strong internal medicine and hospitalist group, there are no expectations to assume most responsible physician on any patient. Remuneration is fee-for-service as set by the OHIP Schedule of Benefits and Fees. Osler is also affiliated with McMaster University Michael DeGroote School of Medicine Family Medicine Program as an academic community teaching site. Moreover, there is the turnkey opportunity to join the Rheumatology Associates Brampton outpatient practice. Accountabilities: Weekday and weekend/holiday on-call for adults in the Emergency Department and inpatient units Inpatient consultative care as per the rheumatology call schedule at Brampton Civic Hospital and Etobicoke General Hospital to admitted adults on nonmedical and medical services Support the most responsible physician care being provided by family practice hospitalists, GIM hospitalists or medical subspecialists Qualifications Accredited medical degree (or equivalent) Certification in Rheumatology from the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada (FRCPC) License to practice and in good standing with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Ontario Excellent communication and interpersonal skills Sound critical thinking and problem-solving skills Excellent communication skills in English (additional languages are considered an asset as we serve a highly diverse population) Proven track record of attendance, punctuality and accountability Models behaviour that aligns with Osler’s Values of Respect, Excellence, Service, Compassion, Innovation and Collaboration Expertise in clinical teaching or clinical research preferred for those interested in education or research Additional Information Osler is a primary clinical partner for Toronto Metropolitan University School of Medicine and is an academic community partner with the University of Toronto’s Temerty Faculty of Medicine and McMaster’s Michael G. DeGroote School of Medicine. Successful applicants are required to participate in academic activities, which may include teaching, research, or quality improvement initiatives. Requirements
