Job summary
Working within the mission, vision and values of Wing Kei, the primary function of this position is the repair and maintenance of Wing Kei’s assets, and ensuring the building and facilities are maintained in a clean, attractive and safe condition. THE ROLE Key Accountabilities * Implements preventative maintenance programs, conducts scheduled building inspections, and maintains accurate maintenance records in the system. * Carries out repair work to support a safe and healthy environment. * Assists in emergency response plans and duties. * Coordinates with purchasing to source and order supplies and equipment. * Provides support to the Facilities department as assigned by the supervisor. Duties include the document processing of maintenance records. * Promotes and maintains a safe and compliant workplace by adhering applicable government legislation, codes, standards, and Wing Kei’s policies and procedures. THE INDIVIDUAL WHO WILL SUCCEED * Possesses a minimum of 1 year experience in carpentry, plumbing, mechanical or equivalent maintenance. * Has knowledge of preventive maintenance programs for building systems, and relevant legislations and procedures regarding building standards, fire and safety. * Has basic computer literacy, including the ability to use email and office suite software. * Willing to learn and contribute to a team-oriented environment. * Able to follow instructions and complete tasks in a timely and efficient manner. * Has good verbal and written communication skills in English, knowledge of Chinese is an asset. * Physically capable of performing tasks that may require climbing ladders, lifting up to 50 pounds, bending, crouching, pushing and pulling.
