Position Overview Under the general supervision of the Clinical Nursing Director, or The Assistant Director, Nursing Education, and while demonstrating a commitment to the Mission, Values and Management Philosophy of St. Boniface Hospital, the Continuing Education Instructor is responsible for: acting as a clinical educational resource for nursing unit personnel; facilitating the learning process and evaluating learning outcome; planning, coordinating, and in conjunction with the Nursing Director, evaluating unit specific orientation programs; participating in educational activities within the specific Department, the Patient Care Portfolio, and throughout the Hospital; and performing other related duties as required/assigned. Experience Minimum two (2) years recent acute medicine nursing experience required. Education (Degree/Diploma/Certificate) Bachelor's degree in Nursing required. Advanced Assessment Course required. Certification/Licensure/Registration CRNM registration required. Active participation in professional associations e.g. Association of Registered Nurses of Manitoba (ARNM) preferred. NOTE: Successful completion of the BLS Instructor Certificate will be obtained at a time scheduled by the employer or at a time mutually agreed upon between the nurse and the employer required. Qualifications and Skills Scope of practice as documented in the Regulated Health Professions Act (RHPA). Demonstrated ability in communicating with and teaching adults required. Applicants will be assessed against the following selection criteria, as applicable to the position: experience, education, patient care and clinical knowledge/skills, leadership skills, communication and interpersonal skills, critical thinking and problem-solving skills, quality improvement, teaching skills, research knowledge, professional development and seniority. Requirements
Candidates must hold a Bachelor's degree in Nursing and possess at least two years of recent acute medicine nursing experience. Registration with the CRNM and completion of an Advanced Assessment Course are also required.
