Shared Health leads the planning and coordinates the integration of patient- centered clinical and preventive health services across Manitoba. The organization also delivers some province-wide health services and supports centralized administrative and business functions for Manitoba health organizations. Position Overview Reporting to the Chief Medical Officer of Shared Health, the successful applicant will lead the development, promotion and utilization of the Physician Assistant (PA) and Clinical Assistant (Cl.A) disciplines in Manitoba. Working in support of the Regional Health Authorities, the Chief Medical Officers, the Provincial Medical Leadership Council, and Manitoba Health, the Provincial Lead will provide technical and administrative leadership to the management of PAs and Cl.As. Primary responsibilities include coordination with employers, physicians and surgeons, regulatory bodies, educational institutions, and other stakeholders, to develop and implement strategies that ensure appropriate utilization of PAs and Cl.As in ways that support and promote Health System Transformation within the Province. Direct clinical supervision is not part of this role.Experience Minimum five years of experience working as a Physician Assistant or Clinical Assistant. Management or leadership or administrative experience and/or training is preferred. Teaching experience is preferred. Education (Degree/Diploma/Certificate) Not ApplicableCertification/Licensure/Registration Eligible for registration as a Physician Assistant or Clinical Assistant with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Manitoba (CPSM). Qualifications and Skills Excellent oral, written and interpersonal communication skills. Ability to interact effectively with all stakeholders at all levels. Ability to lead and work with diverse groups. Demonstrated strategic problem-solving and decision-making skills.
