Job summary
Overview The Sales Associate will help to advance the organization’s strategic goals by embracing the mission, vision, and values of WINS. Reporting to the Store Manager, the Sales Associate is responsible for providing friendly and courteous service to customers, donors and volunteers. This position works in a fast-paced environment that involves driving sales through engagement of customers, suggestive selling, and sharing product knowledge. Duties And Responsibilities Foster a positive workplace and team environment through open communication Ensure high levels of customer satisfaction through excellent sales service Assess customers’ needs and provide assistance and information on products Welcome customers to the store and answer their queries Sort, tag, hang merchandise, arrange, restock sales floor Resolve customer complaints to ensure maximum client satisfaction Process sales transactions at point of sale (POS) accurately & efficiently Receive, sort, & recycle donated goods Lift & move all sizes of furniture throughout each shift - 50 lbs individually or 100 lbs as a member of a team Promote upcoming sale promotions, events and other WINS initiatives Follow and achieve department’s sales goals on a monthly, quarterly and yearly basis Actively seek out customers in store and “Go the extra mile” to drive sales Remain knowledgeable about WINS community impact and the programs offered General housekeeping and tidiness of store & rotate inventory on regular basis Other duties as assigned Requirements Education Grade 12 Diploma and/or equivalent combination of education and experience Experience Previous experience in a retail, customer service environment is an asset Personal/ Professional Attributes A friendly and energetic personality with customer service focus Strong communication and interpersonal skills Ability to problem solve, multi-task and prioritize daily work Ability to perform under pressure and address complaints in a timely manner Ability to stand for long periods of time throughout each shift Availability to work flexible shifts with weekend availability Ability to physically lift 50 lbs individually or 100 lbs as a member of a team Eligible to work in Canada CSA approved steel-toe boots

Requirements
Candidates must have a Grade 12 diploma and be eligible to work in Canada, with previous retail experience considered an asset. Physical ability to lift up to 100 lbs as a team and the use of CSA approved steel-toe boots are required.
