Confirm findings with supervisor to determine whether to repair or replace unit Discuss work with supervisor Inspect and test mechanical units to locate faults and malfunctions Inspect mechanical units to locate faults and malfunctions Inspect motor in operation Review work orders Road test motor vehicles Test automotive systems and components Adjust, repair or replace parts and components of automotive systems Repair or replace mechanical units or components Test and adjust repaired systems to manufacturer's specifications Estimate parts and labour cost to perform vehicle maintenance and repairs Perform scheduled maintenance service Test and adjust units to specifications Advise customers on work performed and future repair requirements Complete reports to record problems and work performed Requirements No degree, certificate, or diploma required. Must have a minimum of 3 years to less than 5 years of experience. Must be willing to work at the physical location. Must be able to communicate in English. Must have Automotive Service Technician Trade Certification. Must be willing to undergo a criminal record check. Must have a valid Driver’s license, preferably with own transportation. Must have own tools and steel-toed safety boots. Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment, have good hand-eye coordination, strong attention to detail and manual dexterity, and be able to stand for extended periods. Must be accurate, client-focused, dependable, flexible, reliable, a team player, and have excellent oral and written communication skills. Qualified youths and newcomers are encouraged to apply.
