Role Description The Senior Legal Assistant (Real Estate and Finance) role is a full-time, on-site position based in Vancouver, BC. The individual in this role will support lawyers by preparing and reviewing legal documents related to real estate transactions and financing matters, including contracts, closing documentation, and correspondence. Day-to-day responsibilities include managing files, maintaining organized records, scheduling appointments, coordinating with clients and external parties, and ensuring timelines and deadlines are met. The Senior Legal Assistant will also handle administrative tasks such as drafting communications, managing calendars, assisting with billing processes, and supporting the smooth operation of the practice. This role requires a high level of accuracy, discretion, and the ability to work independently while collaborating closely with the legal team. Qualifications Strong foundation in law with experience in real estate and finance matters, and a solid understanding of legal procedures. Proficiency in legal document preparation, including drafting, formatting, and reviewing contracts, agreements, and transaction documentation. Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to interact professionally with clients, colleagues, and external stakeholders. Demonstrated experience in administrative assistance within a law firm setting, including file management, scheduling, and general office support. Experience working as a legal assistant or senior legal assistant, with the ability to handle complex files and support multiple lawyers. High attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and the ability to manage competing priorities and deadlines. Proficiency with legal practice management software, document management systems, and standard office applications (e.g., MS Office). Relevant post-secondary education in legal administration, paralegal studies, or a related field; equivalent experience may be considered. Ability to maintain confidentiality, exercise sound judgment, and work effectively in an on-site, team-oriented environment.
