Degree in Mechanical Engineering. Minimum Years Of Relevant Work Experience Bachelor’s degree + at least 7 years of relevant professional experience, or Master’s degree + at least 4 years of relevant professional experience, in mechanical/electromechanical infrastructure, including design review, contract support and construction supervision. Demonstrated participation in at least three assignments/projects of similar nature and complexity. Relevant experience should include mechanical or complex infrastructure projects and substantial involvement in design review and/or supervision, technical submissions, QA/QC, testing/commissioning and contract administration. Ability to review technical calculations, drawings, specifications, equipment schedules and BOQs is required. Experience using computers and office software packages (MS Word, Excel, etc.), Engineering Programs (AUTO-CAD electrical, OpenPLC, Modbus), and advanced knowledge of web-based management systems. Knowledge of international standards for infrastructure projects and contracts management (ISO standards, British Standards, FIDIC contracts, IEC, etc.) and experience from international donor-funded infrastructure projects. Experience with port, industrial, cold-storage/cold-chain, RO/water-treatment, pumping, fire-protection or facilities-related mechanical systems. Experience working with multi-disciplinary design and construction teams and liaising with end users and local authorities. A proven track of excellent communication skills, both oral and written. Knowledge of UNDP program management and financial procedures and policies. Knowledge and working experience with UNDP, the United Nations system, and INGOs, particularly with governance and recovery programmes. Required Language(s) Fluency in both written and spoken English and Arabic is required.
