Job summary

The Cleaning Associate is responsible for maintaining clean buildings, hallways, grounds, and vacant suites on behalf of York Property Management. The Cleaning Associate will be required to work only on weekdays, during the day (40hrs a week guaranteed). Reporting to the Manager of Resident Experience and working with the Maintenance Technician, the Cleaning Associate will oversee the cleanliness of assigned building(s). The Cleaning Associate will ensure that all operations are conducted in a respectful and responsible way, ensuring that all decisions and actions comply with the relevant legislation, policies and procedures. Responsibilities Maintain Exterior Water and tend to plants Pick up any garbage around the property Sidewalk salting and snow shoveling Regularly walk parking garage to check for garbage and debris Maintain Interior Water plants, ensure lobbies and common areas are cleaned thoroughly Pick up and discard debris and garbage Keep cleaning supplies organized and report low stock to manager Ensure hallways on all floors are cleaned (carpets, tile, etc). Ensure garbage chutes are operational and chute rooms are clean Clean units to make ready for occupancy Sweep, vacuum, mop, scrub and wax floors Remove scraps, dirt, heavy debris and other refuse Empty waste containers Wash windows, interior walls and ceilings Ensure washrooms are clean Scrub, wash, and wipe appliances, sinks, and tubs Core Competencies, Skills, And Expectations The incumbent must demonstrate the following knowledge and skills: Knowledge of effective cleaning practices Ability to work independently Time management skills The Incumbent Must Meet The Following Company-wide Expectations Maintain good attendance Represent York in a responsible, respectful, and professional manner Work with honesty and integrity Foster collaboration and open communication with colleagues Provide exceptional customer service Participate in all required training and follow set policies and procedures Maintain confidentiality with secure information Be accountable for your work and strive for improvement York Property Management (YPM) manages 4,500+ residential apartment suites in Southwestern Ontario.
