Job summary

Position Summary The Technical Support Engineer is responsible for providing advanced technical support, product troubleshooting, warranty assistance, dealer training, and field service engineering for Zoomlion forklift products. This position serves as the technical liaison between dealers, customers, the Canadian subsidiary, and the global engineering team to ensure excellent product reliability, customer satisfaction, and continuous product improvement. Key Responsibilities Provide advanced technical support to dealers and customers through phone, email, remote diagnostics, and on-site visits. Troubleshoot mechanical, hydraulic, electrical, electronic control, and CAN bus communication systems on forklift equipment. Analyze equipment failures and perform root cause analysis to identify corrective and preventive actions. Support dealer technicians with complex repairs and technical problem resolution. Review warranty claims and evaluate technical reports, service records, photographs, and failed components. Prepare technical reports, service bulletins, repair procedures, and product improvement recommendations. Deliver technical training programs for dealers, service technicians, and customers. Support new product launches, product commissioning, demonstrations, and customer acceptance. Work closely with the Engineering, Quality, Warranty, and Parts teams to resolve product issues and improve equipment performance. Assist the Parts Department with technical parts identification and replacement recommendations. Collect field quality data and communicate product improvement opportunities to headquarters. Maintain accurate service documentation and technical case records in a timely manner. Ensure compliance with company safety policies and applicable Canadian regulations. Travel throughout Canada to provide dealer and customer support as required. Qualifications Required Bachelor’s degree or College Diploma in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, Heavy Equipment Technology, or a related technical discipline. Minimum 3 years of experience in technical support, service engineering, or field service for forklifts, material handling equipment, construction equipment, agricultural machinery, or heavy equipment. Strong knowledge of hydraulic systems, electrical systems, mechanical systems, diesel engines, AC drive systems, and electronic control systems. Experience interpreting hydraulic schematics, electrical wiring diagrams, and technical service manuals. Strong troubleshooting, diagnostic, and root cause analysis skills. Excellent communication and customer service skills. Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications. Valid Ontario G Driver’s License and willingness to travel approximately 30–50% across Canada. Legally authorized to work in Canada. Preferred Experience supporting electric forklifts and lithium-ion battery systems. Experience working with dealer networks and rental companies. Familiarity with warranty administration and technical documentation. Experience using OEM diagnostic software and CAN bus diagnostic tools. Knowledge of telematics and remote diagnostics is considered an asset. Ability to communicate in both English and Mandarin Chinese is considered a strong asset. Previous experience with Toyota, Hyster, Yale, Crown, Raymond, Linde, Jungheinrich, Mitsubishi, Komatsu, Bobcat, Hangcha, EP Equipment, or other material handling equipment manufacturers is preferred.
