Role Description The 310T Truck & Coach Mechanics/Technicians role is a full-time, on-site position based in Newmarket, ON. In this role, the mechanic/technician will perform diagnostics, repairs, and maintenance on trucks, buses, and related commercial vehicles, ensuring safety, reliability, and compliance with regulatory standards. Day-to-day tasks may include inspecting vehicles, identifying mechanical and electrical issues, completing scheduled preventive maintenance, and documenting all work performed. The mechanic/technician will use appropriate tools and equipment, follow manufacturer specifications, and collaborate with service teams and supervisors to prioritize work orders and meet operational timelines. The role also involves communicating clearly with colleagues, maintaining a clean and safe work environment, and staying current with evolving technologies and industry best practices. Qualifications Valid 310T Truck & Coach Technician certification (or equivalent) and proven experience working with heavy-duty trucks, buses, or commercial vehicles. Strong mechanical and technical skills in diagnostics, repair, and maintenance of engines, drivetrains, braking systems, suspension, and steering components. Ability to use diagnostic tools, hand and power tools, and computerized systems to identify and resolve mechanical and electrical issues efficiently. Knowledge of safety regulations, workplace health and safety practices, and relevant transportation and vehicle standards in Ontario. Effective communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to follow work orders, document repairs clearly, and collaborate with service and operations staff. Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and ability to manage time and multiple tasks in a busy shop environment. Willingness to participate in ongoing training, adapt to new technologies, and maintain current knowledge of industry trends and manufacturer guidelines. High school diploma or equivalent; additional technical training or apprenticeship completion in truck and coach or heavy equipment mechanics is an asset. Experience working with diverse teams or in inclusive workplaces, and commitment to equitable, respectful interactions with colleagues and customers.
