Procurement Specialist

Job Description The Procurement Specialist will be responsible for supporting the implementation of strategies for procuring, storing and distributing goods within Actalent's client. The role will primarily be managing existing contracts and will include: creating purchase orders, entering receipts into JDE, tracking and claiming rebates, assisting with specific project and estimating requirements, monitoring trends and developing/nurturing positive vendor relationships. Must Haves 3-5 years exp. in procurement Material purchases and equipment mostly Cut POs (tied to general work and new ones) past exp. managing 10+ POs while also doing vendor setups and invoice reconciliations General Contractor or manufacturing/fabrication company procurement experience ERP exp. (JD Edwards is preferred, but open to candidates with experience in Oracle and SAP) self-motivated and ability to work independently strong organizational skills NICE TO HAVES Experience purchasing within Transmission & Distribution or electrical Substation and distribution purchases (cable pulls, conductors, transformers) Expediting exposure example - following up not on important export to ensure things do not show up late to the work site JD Edwards Business Certificate, Diploma or Degree Ability to maintain a high level of accuracy and confidentiality concerning financial and commercial terms Experience Level Intermediate Level Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Calgary, AB. Pay And Benefits The pay range for this position is $35.00 - $45.00/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
