Location: Toronto, ON, Hybrid, minimum 1 day per week on-site (Wednesday), with occasional travel across the GTA Language: Excellent written and spoken English required Duration: 1-year contract, with potential extensions Rate: $80–$100/hour Background Check Requirement: Canadian Criminal Record Check Level 1 Clearance Certificate, or equivalent clearance About the Opportunity We’re looking for an experienced Information Security / Cybersecurity Project Manager to lead complex security and technology risk initiatives within a large, public-sector, not-for-profit environment. You’ll help turn cybersecurity priorities into well-governed, executable projects that strengthen security, resilience, and operational readiness. Working closely with PMO and Cybersecurity leadership, technical teams, business stakeholders, vendors, and service providers, you’ll bring structure and momentum to initiatives spanning identity, cloud, network, endpoint, infrastructure, and information security. This is an opportunity to make a meaningful impact while navigating highly visible, cross-functional projects. Your Responsibilities • You’ll lead cybersecurity and information security projects from initiation and planning through testing, implementation, operational transition, and closure. • You’ll manage scope, schedules, budgets, resources, dependencies, RAID logs, change controls, governance materials, and executive reporting. • You’ll oversee initiatives involving IAM, MFA, PAM, vulnerability remediation, network and cloud security, endpoint security, monitoring, resilience, and infrastructure hardening. • You’ll coordinate security reviews, testing, implementation readiness, technical cutovers, knowledge transfer, and post-implementation stabilization. • You’ll manage vendors, deliverables, financial tracking, risks, issues, dependencies, and acceptance criteria. • You’ll translate complex technical topics into clear business impacts, decisions, risks, and recommended actions for leadership. Skills and Qualifications • 10+ years of experience managing complex IT projects, including 5+ years leading cybersecurity, information security, network, infrastructure, cloud, identity, or technology risk projects. • PMP or equivalent formal project management certification, plus a relevant degree, diploma, or equivalent combination of education and experience. • Strong cybersecurity knowledge across IAM, MFA, PAM, vulnerability management, SIEM, EDR, DLP, network, endpoint, cloud security, incident response, and operational readiness. • Proficiency with Microsoft Project, Visio, PowerPoint, Word, Excel, Teams, SharePoint, and waterfall, agile, hybrid, and SDLC delivery methods. • Familiarity with NIST CSF, ISO 27001, CIS Controls, COBIT, ITIL, privacy-by-design, and technology risk management. • Knowledge of Microsoft Entra ID/Azure AD, Microsoft cloud services, SaaS/PaaS, Windows and Linux infrastructure, mobile security, and IoT security. • CISM, CISSP, CISA, Security+, ITIL, Certified ScrumMaster, or related certifications are assets, as is experience in public-sector, regulated, unionized, or audit-sensitive environments.
