Payroll & Benefits Specialist - 3 Month Contract, requires an Immediate start Location: Downtown Toronto, ON (2-3 days onsite) Compensation: $30-$50 T4 depending on experience Language: English, with strong written and verbal communication skills Duration: 3-month contract About the Opportunity Altis Recruitment is partnering with a well-established healthcare organization to hire a Payroll & Benefits Specialist for a three-month contract. This is a hands-on opportunity for an experienced payroll professional who can step in quickly and confidently manage accurate, timely payroll processing. You will work closely with Finance and Human Resources while supporting employees with payroll and benefits-related questions. Your attention to detail and understanding of Ontario payroll requirements will be essential to maintaining accurate employee records and resolving discrepancies. This role offers exposure to multi-entity payroll, employee benefits administration, compliance reporting, and payroll process improvements. Your Responsibilities You’ll process bi-weekly payroll for hourly and salaried employees across multiple entities using ADP Workforce Now. You’ll maintain employee payroll records, including new hires, terminations, earnings, deductions, banking information, and rate changes. You’ll calculate payroll adjustments, vacation payouts, statutory deductions, taxable benefits, and other employee payments. You’ll prepare ROEs, T4s, T4As, WSIB filings, EHT reporting, and required payroll reconciliations. You’ll support benefits administration, including employee enrolments, terminations, changes, and reconciliations. You’ll respond to employee and government inquiries while investigating and resolving payroll discrepancies. You’ll assist with payroll journal entries, reporting, compensation analysis, and process automation. Skills and Qualifications 5+ years of hands-on experience processing payroll and benefits for hourly and salaried employees. Practical experience using ADP Workforce Now is strongly preferred. Strong knowledge of Ontario payroll legislation, statutory deductions, and the Employment Standards Act. Experience preparing ROEs, T4s, T4As, remittances, and payroll reconciliations. Benefits or pension administration experience is considered an asset. PCP certification is strongly preferred.
