Job summary
We’re partnering with a large, growing Calgary organization to recruit a Financial Analyst for a 6-month contract. This is a hands-on role within a small, collaborative finance team and will support a mix of financial reporting, reconciliations, accounts receivable, month-end activities, and day-to-day financial operations. The ideal candidate can step into a busy environment, work independently, and get up to speed quickly. This position is remote; however, candidates must be located in Calgary or the surrounding area, as occasional visits to local locations will be required. Start date is ASAP. What You’ll Be Doing Prepare and analyze monthly financial reporting. Complete general ledger entries, reconciliations, and account corrections. Prepare bank and other balance sheet reconciliations. Support month-end, quarterly, and year-end reporting activities. Assist with forecasting, budgeting, and variance reporting. Prepare journal entries and account adjustments. Support full-cycle accounts receivable, including invoicing, payments and account reconciliation. Investigate account discrepancies and inquiries and follow through on required adjustments. Coordinate payments, fund transfers, and other finance-related transactions. Support year-end audit working papers and financial schedules. Work closely with internal departments and external stakeholders on financial matters. Assist with ad hoc reporting, process documentation, and finance projects as required. What We’re Looking For 2+ years of directly related accounting, financial reporting or financial analysis experience. Post-secondary education in accounting, finance, business or a related field; equivalent education and experience will also be considered. Strong general accounting knowledge with experience working with the GL, journal entries, and reconciliations. Experience with accounts receivable and invoicing. Strong Excel and Microsoft Office skills. Microsoft Business Central experience is a strong asset. Knowledge of GAAP and/or PSAB is an asset.
