Job summary

We're looking for an Accountant to join a collaborative finance team on a 10-month contract. This opportunity is ideal for someone who enjoys operational accounting, financial reporting, and solving complex accounting challenges in a fast-paced environment. This role will step into an established position supporting a busy finance team, so we're looking for someone who can learn quickly, work independently, and confidently take ownership. This is a hybrid model role (training will be fully in-office) located near Kingsway in Edmonton, starting immediately. What You'll Be Doing Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and reporting packages. Complete complex journal entries, account reconciliations, and supporting working papers. Perform variance analysis and provide meaningful financial insights to support business decisions. Prepare regulatory reporting, tax schedules, and other required financial reporting. Support budgeting and forecasting activities. Ensure compliance with accounting standards, internal controls, and corporate policies. Partner with stakeholders across the business to answer accounting questions and provide financial support. What We're Looking For CPA designation (or working towards) is a strong asset. Minimum 4 years of progressive accounting experience. Strong hands-on experience preparing financial statements, reconciliations, and complex journal entries. Advanced Excel skills, including strong experience with Power Query. Strong analytical skills with exceptional attention to detail. Insurance accounting or IFRS 17 experience is an asset. Experience with Workday is considered an asset.
