Role: Java Backend Developer Location: Toronto, ON – 4 days onsite role Contract role Key Responsibilities Develop and maintain backend applications using Java and Spring Boot. Design and develop RESTful APIs and microservices. Write clean, scalable, and reusable code. Work with SQL and relational databases. Integrate backend services with internal and external systems. Troubleshoot application issues and improve performance. Write unit and integration tests. Collaborate with frontend developers, QA, DevOps, and business teams. Participate in code reviews and Agile/Scrum activities. Required Skills 4+ years of experience in Java development. Strong knowledge of Java 8/11/17+. Hands-on experience with Spring Boot, Spring MVC, and REST APIs. Good understanding of Microservices architecture. Strong SQL and database knowledge. Experience with Git and CI/CD. Knowledge of JUnit/Mockito or similar testing frameworks. Good problem-solving and communication skills.
