Job Description Dal-Catering, operated by Aramark, is looking for two energetic, dependable, and customer-focused Catering Drivers / Event Stewards to join our growing catering team on the Dalhousie University campus in Halifax. This is a hands-on position ideal for someone who enjoys being active, working as part of a team, and helping deliver exceptional hospitality experiences. If you're reliable, organized, enjoy driving, and take pride in providing outstanding service, we'd love to hear from you!Job Responsibilities As a Catering Driver / Event Steward, your responsibilities will include: Safely driving catering vehicles to deliver food, beverages, equipment, and supplies across campus and surrounding locations. Loading, unloading, packing, and organizing catering vans efficiently and safely. Completing daily deliveries while ensuring all orders arrive on time and in excellent condition. Setting up catering events, including tables, linens, buffet equipment, beverages, décor, and service stations. Assisting with the preparation and organization of catering equipment before events. Tearing down events, collecting equipment, and returning items to the catering department. Maintaining cleanliness and organization of catering vehicles, storage areas, and event equipment. Providing friendly, professional customer service while representing Dal-Catering and Aramark. Working closely with catering chefs, supervisors, servers, bartenders, and event staff to ensure seamless event execution. Following all workplace health & safety, food safety, and safe lifting procedures. Completing delivery logs, vehicle inspections, and other required documentation as needed. Assisting with general catering operations during quieter periods, including dishware organization, inventory movement, and equipment preparation. Qualifications Valid Class 5 Driver's License with a clean Driver's Abstract. Ability to safely operate catering delivery vehicles. Ability to lift, carry, and move up to 50 lbs repeatedly throughout the day. Strong organizational and time-management skills. Excellent reliability and punctuality. Comfortable working independently as well as within a fast-paced team environment. Professional communication and customer service skills. Ability to work a flexible schedule based on catering business needs, including mornings, evenings, weekends, and occasional holidays. This role may have physical demands including, but not limited to, lifting, bending, pushing, pulling and/or extended walking and standing. Requirements
