About the Role: This position focuses on assisting sushi chefs by preparing ingredients, maintaining cleanliness, and organizing supplies to facilitate timely and high-quality sushi production. The role requires attention to detail and a commitment to food safety standards to uphold the restaurant's reputation for freshness and hygiene. By supporting the sushi chefs and front-of-house staff, the Sushi Bar Helper contributes to an exceptional dining experience for customers. Minimum Qualifications: * Basic knowledge of food safety and hygiene practices. * Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and follow instructions accurately. * Physical stamina to stand for extended periods and perform repetitive tasks. * Legal eligibility to work in Canada. Preferred Qualifications: * Previous experience working in a sushi bar or similar food service environment. * Familiarity with Japanese cuisine and sushi preparation techniques. * Certification in food handling or safety. * Strong communication skills and ability to work well within a team. Responsibilities: * Assist sushi chefs with basic food preparation tasks such as washing and cutting vegetables, preparing rice, and organizing seafood. * Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of the sushi bar area, including utensils, cutting boards, and work surfaces, following health and safety regulations. * Restock ingredients and supplies promptly to ensure continuous operation during service hours.

What you’ll do

Requirements

Previous experience as a Sushi Chef or Cook is preferred, though training may be provided for entry-level candidates. Candidates must possess strong knife skills and a deep knowledge of Japanese cuisine preparation techniques.
