Are you an experienced automotive accounting professional who knows what it takes to run the financial side of a dealership? We’re looking for a Controller who understands dealership accounting and is ready to take ownership of the dealership’s full-cycle accounting operations. This is a key leadership role where your expertise will directly influence the financial health, performance, and continued growth of the business. As Controller, you’ll work closely with dealership leadership, provide meaningful financial insight, oversee month-end reporting, and ensure the accounting operation runs accurately, efficiently, and effectively. What we offer: * Competitive compensation package * Opportunity to grow your career within a large national automotive organization * A leadership role with direct impact on dealership performance * Opportunity to partner with dealership leadership and influence business decisions * Support, resources, and exposure to a broader network of automotive professionals * A fast-paced environment where your dealership expertise is valued What drives your day to day? * Lead the dealership's accounting and financial reporting functions. * Manage financial planning, budgeting, forecasting, and expense control activities. * Ensure all financial accounts are reconciled accurately and on time, including cash, accounts receivable, accounts payable, prepaid expenses, fixed assets, payroll, manufacturer statements, intercompany accounts, and vehicle deal commissions. * Prepare andsubmitmonthly, quarterly, and annual financial reporting requirements. * Analyze financial results andidentifyopportunities to improve profitability and operational performance. * Review andmaintaindealership contracts and financial agreements. * Ensure compliance with company policies, accounting standards, and manufacturer requirements. * Attend leadership meetings and contribute to budgeting, forecasting, and business planning discussions. * Collaborate with Home Office and dealership leadership teams on financial and operational initiatives. * Lead, coach, mentor, and develop accounting team members. * Support year-end reporting, audits, and other financial projects asrequired. What are the must haves? We’re looking for an automotive accounting expert—someone who understands how a dealership operates and can step into the role with confidence. * Previous experience as a Controller, Assistant Controller, or senior dealership accounting professional * Strong understanding of automotive dealership accounting and financial processes * Minimum 5 years of progressive accounting experience. * CPA designation. * Previousleadership experience overseeing or managing an accounting team. * Strong understanding of dealership accounting processes, financial reporting, reconciliations, and internal controls. * Exceptional analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills. * Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to build strong relationships across all levels of the organization. * Ability to manage multiple priorities while meeting deadlines in a fast-paced environment. * Advancedproficiencyin Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office applications. * Results-driven, detail-oriented, and highly organized with a strong business acumen.
